Some histories arrive as facts. Others arrive as traces. In this video work, fragments of both are gathered to almost touch, held in near contact, where meaning may form but does not close.
Through archival moving images, the work dwells in spaces where memory refuses containment, where what has been lost continues to shape what can be known. It follows African and Black beings that exceed the frame and the portrait, withdrawing the terms through which they have been made visible and knowable.
Rather than offering clarity or resolution, it chooses to remain with forms of presence that are partial, fugitive, and opaque.
