The Pulsus, Passages to Its Ontological Bones

Visual Essay, Book

2026

A visual essay composed through reworkings of text, typography, and spatial arrangement, where narrative is interrupted at the level of its own legibility. Rather than moving beyond narrative, it remains within its constraints, working through its fractures and omissions. Text and image are placed in unstable proximity, where meaning is continually deferred rather than decoded.

Pattern-making is a contingent practice of orientation within partial and limited conditions of knowledge. Informed by African and Black diasporic forms of memory and navigation, understood as interrupted rather than continuous transmissions.
